I made these quiz cards when we started Classical Conversations three years ago in Cycle 2. I love CC’s business-card sized flash cards for memory work, but I wanted the boys to be able to answer questions about their history sentences–not just spout them back to me by memory. Thus the history cards were born. Using the history sentences as the correct answer, they word questions in such a way as to elicit names, dates, place, and other important facts from the student. We used them with a Trivial Pursuit board and the boys had a blast.
I also made a set for math, not realizing at the time that the math memory work is repeated for all 3 cycles–bonus! Perhaps at some point I’ll find the time to create history sets for Cycles 1 and 3, but until then, hopefully these will be useful for someone out there.

Have these been updated with the new cycle 2 material thatβs been changed ?
These cards have not been updated. I don’t own a copy of the new Foundations guide so I don’t know how the content changed, but my assumption is that the historical facts referenced by the cards remain useful to any student studying that time period. π
Melanie, these are awesome! Thank you for sharing your good ideas and hard work. π
These are great! Did you ever do any for any of the other topics? I didn’t see them, but I didn’t want to miss out if you did. Thanks!
Sadly, I never did. I hope these turn out to be helpful for you!
Melanie, WOW! Brilliant! They really help the memory work be less trigger specific (“tell me about…”). What a great idea to have the math go backwards also. In case you can’t tell….I love them. Hoping for a cycle 3 (and 1 would be wonderful)
Just found these today and I’m very excited to use them! Hope you find the time to make more of them π
These look great! Hope you do some more. : )
WOW these are wonderful! Thank YOU!
Awesome! Science? Thanks for posting.
Looking forward to using these! Thank you for sharing them!
I love them! Thanks for posting!
These are wonderful. I can’t wait to see the ones you make for cycle 1 and 3.
Thank you, Dawn! I hope you enjoy using them. π
