I can’t tell you how intimidated I am by the thought of memorizing 3 entire chapters of Romans, but when I read this post by Ann Voskamp, I couldn’t resist printing out the pages for my own scripture memory book and accepting her challenge.
I lead the kids in learning a ton of memory work every week of our school year but those sentences and paragraphs are fairly short and they almost always have a snappy tune to go along with them. We learned Ephesians 6, as a matter of fact, during Cycle 2 and I was able to retain nearly all of that because we’d learned it through a song.
I haven’t yet searched online to see if there are songs for these chapters of Romans, but I’m praying that God will help my tired brain to retain this scripture for all of the reasons that Ann and John Piper lay out in her post on this subject.
Won’t you join me?
