If you are a student of Classical Conversations’ Challenge A, B, or I program, you’ll never need another Latin flash card set. This set of over 500 flash cards covers all vocabulary in the Henle I Latin text. The digital file (PDF format) contains letter-sized pages of English terms on the front side of the cards with their Latin equivalents on the back side (10 business card-sized flash cards per page). The Latin side also features color coding to quickly see at a glance the part of speech of the word: noun, verb, adjective, adverb, conjugation, and preposition. Graphic styles (solid, chevron, striped) further distinguish between colors to separate the nouns, verbs, and adjectives into declensions/conjugations.

Wondering approximately how much it will cost to have these printed?

    • (verified owner):

If you are a member of a Classical Conversations community, you have access to a discount for printing through Office Depot or Staples. I haven’t printed them there myself so I don’t have information on the cost, but you could call and ask. Between the 2 files that you receive in your download, there are 36 pages (printed on both sides) that would need to be printed. One side could be printed in black and white, but the back side needs to be full color in order to take advantage of the review system for the parts of speech. I buy inexpensive print cartridges for my printer and print mine at home so the cost is relatively low. I always have card stock on hand and so I just did them myself. A lot depends on the type of ink you use in your printer and whether you’d qualify for the discount through Office Depot or Staples. I have no idea how much they would be without the discount, but I’ve heard that the discount is substantially less than the normal cost. Definitely worth looking into!

Bought these last year and love them! The color codes are very helpful!

Can you please post how to print these cards?

    • (verified owner):

If you’re printing the files at home, just click your Print button and make sure that it’s set to print two-sided (some print dialog boxes will use the term duplex). You don’t actually need to print the first 2 pages, so you could specify it to print pages 3-72. The two areas marked in yellow on the attached screenshot show the options you should choose. If you take it somewhere to be printed, just specify that it should be double-sided. I hope you enjoy using them in your Latin studies!
