Welcome to Antiquated Notions. I gave my personal website this name because the words are part of the lyrics of one of my favorite songs from the 80s and also because I think it perfectly describes how I feel most days when I analyze my thoughts about pretty much any topic from the news. As the world grows increasingly upside-down, I am striving to maintain my antiquated notions—living a simple life in the country with my husband and three sons.

I’m definitely not my favorite topic to write about, but here’s how I would describe myself:

  • Believer completely sold out on Christ and trying every day to live a life more like his
  • Grateful wife to an amazing husband who treats me far better than I deserve and with whom I intend to spend the rest of my days
  • Mom of three sons who stretch me to be a better person and with whom I am carving out this beautiful life
  • Full-time home educator pursuing a classical, Christian education for myself and my boys through Classical Conversations
  • Writer and editor (Once upon a time I got paid for doing both!)
  • Self-taught graphic designer, web designer, and photographer
  • Avid reader and enthusiastic cook
  • Blessed friend

Thanks for stopping by. As we say here in the South:

“Y’all come back now, ya hear?”
